What are the different accounts that I can open via rhbbank.com.my?

You can open a current account, place a fixed deposit as well as apply for a home loan via rhbbank.com.my.

Do I need to visit the branch to provide my specimen signature?

You do not need to provide your specimen signature. We will re-use your signature specimen from your existing RHB Bank account. Just tell us which account we should refer to when you apply online.

For current accounts, the account will be opened at the same branch of the nominated account.

What is the minimum balance that should be available in my debiting account to enable me to apply for a current account?

You need to have a minimum balance of RM500.00 in your debiting account.

What is the minimum deposit for opening a current account?

The minimum deposit is RM100.00.

Do I need to submit any supporting documents when I apply online?

  • Current/Fixed Deposit
    No supporting documents are needed.
  • Home Loans
    If your application is successful, we will courier the conditional Letter of Offer (LO) to your correspondence address. You will have 14 days to submit your supporting documents and the accepted/signed LO at any RHB Bank Branch. Your loan or financing account will subsequently be maintained at this branch.

How long will it take for my application to be approved?

  • Current Account
    You will be informed through a secure message 2 business days after we receive your application.
  • Fixed Deposit
    Your fixed deposit is created immediately, once you click on the "Submit" button. Please take note that a Fixed Deposit receipt will not be issued. Instead, you can print your Fixed Deposit confirmation screen by clicking on the "Print" button.
  • Home Loans
    We will inform you within 4 business days. For registered Internet Banking users, we will inform you via a secure message. For non-Internet Banking users, we will inform you via the email address provided in the application form.

Will I be able to view my new account immediately, once it has been approved?

If you wish to view the account once it has been approved, you will have to send us a secure message. Your newly opened account will then be displayed on the "My Account" summary screen. For further instructions, please click here.

However, for Fixed Deposit placements, just click on the "Yes" button of your Fixed Deposit confirmation screen to add the account. This will take you to the Secure Message Add/Remove accounts screen, where the new account number will be automatically displayed under the column for adding new account. Click on the "Submit" button to add the new account to your "My Accounts" screen.

It will take 2 business days for your account to be displayed online.

Will I get monthly statements?

Yes, we will send your monthly statements to the address as stated in your account application form. However, for fixed deposit placements, there will be no statements sent. You can view your account details online. This is provided you have requested to add this account to your Internet Banking service.

How do I apply for an ATM card for the account that I have opened online?

You will have to visit any RHB Bank branch to apply for an ATM card. You will be issued with the ATM card on the same day.

How do I request for a cheque book for the current account that I opened online?

Once your current account is shown on rhbbank.com.my, you can order your cheque books online using the “Manage Cheques – Cheque Book Order” option. However, you need to ensure your account has sufficient funds, as a stamp duty charge of RM3.75 (payable to the Government) will be deducted from your account for every 25-leaf cheque book requested.

How do I close or make a pre-mature withdrawal of my Fixed Deposit or Mudharabah General Investment Account?

You can only close or make a pre-mature withdrawal at the branch where the Fixed Deposit or Mudharabah General Investment Account (MGIA) is maintained. By default, this RHB Bank branch is the same as the account from which you withdrew funds to open this Fixed Deposit or MGIA.

How do I print the confirmation screen when I open a Fixed Deposit or Mudharabah General Investment Account?

Just click on the "Print" link at the Fixed Deposit confirmation screen.

Why is it I can't see my joint account in the dropdown box, when I tried to place a Fixed Deposit?

You can only use individual accounts to place Fixed Deposits.
