Who are classified as Non Residents?
Under Bank Negara Exchange Control Regulations, a Non Resident is defined as any individual not holding Malaysian citizenship or Malaysian citizens with Permanent Resident status overseas who are also residing abroad. Take note that the word “foreigners” is used interchangeably with Non Residents within the rhbbank.com.my website.

What are the general restrictions applied to Non Residents using rhbbank.com.my?
Non Residents are not permitted to use this Website's banking and transaction services offered online unless specifically qualified and allowed to do so under the existing Exchange Control Regulations. Specifically, only the following Non Residents (who are also RHB Bank customers) are qualified to use this Website's banking and transaction services offered online:

What transaction restrictions apply to Non Residents?
The Exchange Control regulations issued by Bank Negara specify what these restrictions are, and can be viewed here.
For rhbbank.com.my, these restrictions for Non Residents are effected in the following manner:

For a Non Resident, any transfer of funds from your own account to another account in your own name (e.g. transfer from a personal savings account to a personal current account) is allowed without any restrictions

Any transaction involving the transfer of funds from a Non Resident account to another person's account (3rd party transfer) is allowed, subject to the RM5,000 daily limit.

Transfer of funds from your individual account to a joint account of yours is also considered as a 3rd party transfer, and is subject to the RM5,000 daily limit.
Transfer of funds is allowed for:
- Payment of RM instruments or assets in Malaysia
- Defraying administrative and statutory expenses in Malaysia
- Payment of goods and services in Malaysia
Transfer of funds is not allowed for:
- Ringgit loan

All bill payments for a Non Resident account is subject to the RM5,000 daily limit.
Please take note that bill payment on behalf of another party (Non Resident or Resident) is not allowed. It is considered a loan.

For Telegrahic Transfer and Demand Draft, a separate RM5,000 daily transaction limit is imposed.

Interbank GIRO transactions are allowed.

Any transfer funds from your joint account to another joint account of yours, jointly held with a different account holder, is considered a 3rd party funds transfer.
- Non Residents can set the daily transaction limit for prepaid services to the maximum of RM500.
Stated below are the default limits for all Internet Banking transactions for Non Resident accounts. However, you can make changes to the limits, as stated in the "Allowed limit change" column.

What is a business day?
A business day is defined as any day where the RHB Bank is open for business in Malaysia. But for certain applications via the Internet Banking service (e.g. credit card and loan applications), the applications are processed in Klang Valley. As such, the number of business days applicable for such matters is taken to be that practiced in Federal Territory and Selangor.
